Drawing directives explore the significance of landscape both internal and external. This is an opportunity to interpret the visual equivalent between random action and choreographed movement, past/present, fact/fiction. Topographical renditions and the cartoon feature with the Renaissance literary model the Commonplace book in mind. The premise being that the landscape is both specific and generic.
These conversations look for connections between artist, subject matter and location. The resulting strata deconstruct and reconstruct cultural motifs, found images and historical narratives, an. ambiguous state of space.
